Ron kills it! Sometimes he gets a little backed up but that's because he's (as far as I have found in 11 years here)- the only reputable mechanic in town. If he can't handle the job or the car isn't worth it he will give it to you straight. he finds used and refurbished parts if the car is older and they are available if you like or he will use OEM parts.

The main function of your vehicle’s steering and suspension system is to allow the wheels to move separately of the car or truck, while keeping it “suspended” and stable. Any loosening, movement or uncontrolled motion in these systems can result in a deterioration of handling and accelerated tire wear. The car’s alignment is closely connected and related to the condition of the suspension and steering systems.

Your car, truck or SUV’s suspension system is a complex, networked series of cooperating parts that are designed to provide a smooth and stable ride. The suspension system in your vehicle takes a considerable amount of wear and tear from daily driving. After years of abuse on the open road many of the suspension system’s components will eventually wear out or break. Some of the most important parts of the suspension system include:

  • Control arms

  • Ball joints

  • Springs (coil or leaf)

  • Shock absorbers

  • Struts

There are many signs of a suspension system failing and so being aware of common warning signals or red flags can save you from having costly repair bills, and help keep you and your passengers out of accidents related to a loss of control. Some of these signs to look out for include your car pulling to one side or the other when driving, harsh bouncing/dipping after going over a bump, wheels wiggling or wandering back and forth, having difficulties steering, wheel slipping, wheel vibrations, audible screaming or screeching sounds when steering at lower speeds, or simply wearing out your tires before they are supposed to be replaced.
