A perfectly tuned car, truck or SUV can improve your gas mileage and overall performance while also helping to keep down smog and pollutants in the environment. With the high price of gas in California, having your vehicle inspected every year to determine if your car could benefit from a tune-up is an awesome way to save money on gas and keep your car performing at its highest level.

The Advanced Auto Santa Cruz Tune-up service includes inspecting and adjusting all of the parts and systems in your vehicle that contribute to fuel combusting efficiently. How do you know when your car needs a tune-up service? This is a question we get asked all the time. Some of the biggest factors contributing to your car needing a tune-up include having an older model car or truck, a loss of performance in an older car or truck, vehicles that are used mostly for short trips and do not see a lot of highway driving, or vehicles that are simply at the mileage interval that manufacturers recommend a tune-up.

If you pay attention and track of your vehicle’s gas mileage and see a decrease of 10% or more, you know it’s time to bring it in for tune-up. Most drivers also want a tune-up when they experience any type of driveability issue with their vehicle. Some of the most common driving performance issues to look out for are: diminished acceleration, hesitation, or even stalling when you press on the gas pedal. Check your vehicle’s driver manual or bring your car in to our auto body repair shop to find out the recommended interval for tune-ups and/or spark plug replacement for your specific make and model.
